Classes this Summer

Y'all I'm super excited to announce I will be participating in co-teaching several summer intensive classes this summer. I hope that some (ALL) of my company kids will be involved in at least ONE of them :)

Classes

Weekday classes will be held in a large dance studio in Greensboro please visit
Friday performances will be held at Hope Chapel Greensboro which is located at 1825 Spring Garden St. Greensboro, NC 27403.


July 7th- July 11th

Sound of Music
Production Class*
Do you LOVE the Sound of Music? Do you find yourself singing, "Do, a deer a female deer. Re, a drop of golden sun?" Do you sometimes secretly crave to make your play- clothes out of your old curtains? If so, this is the class for you! You will learn ALL of the songs of the show from Do, a Deer  to Climb Every Mountain to Edelweiss to So Long Farewell to Sixteen Going on Seventeen. The larger the enrollment for this class the better, so we can have full vocals. 
Ages 7-14, 8:30am-12:00pm, $150


Tap It Out!
Students will perform dances and music from Tap based musicals for their final Friday show.

Tap musicals like- Thoroughly Modern Millie, 42nd Street, Anything Goes, and more!
Any Age (Must have at least beginner tap), 1:00-5:00pm, $150



July 28th- August 1st


Disney Musical Revue
Do you Love Disney? Do you love Musicals? THIS IS THE CLASS FOR YOU! You will have a ball and a half doing this one. Dance with Angela and Music with Abigail, you will love everything you learn and put together in this week. What are you Disney musicals? Aladdin, Lion King, The Newsies, Tarzan, Beauty and the Beast, Mary Poppins, and more! Students will learn songs and scenes from Disney Musicals and perform and musical Review on their final day. 
Ages 7-12, 8:30-12:00, $100



Charlie Brown
Production Class*
Students will learn the songs (Like.... Happiness, the Kite, Suppertime, My New Philosophy...and more!) and be casted in a condensed adaption of the well-known and much-loved classic comic, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown. It's a fun show to be a part of, funny and entertaining!
Ages 7-14, 1:00-5:00, $150

August 4th- August 8th


Improve your Improv!
How do they do that!? Learn to make up scenes on the spot and perform them.   Young actors will learn to think on their feet.  Students will work on their improvisational skills through the use of various acting techniques and scene acting. Students will be guided through a series of exercises that focus on specific skills that will be combined and mastered ending in a “Who’s Line Is It Anyway” show.
8:30am-12, Ages 12-17, $100



Wicked The Musical
*Production Class
Do you LOVE Wicked as much as we do? This is the class for you. This week students will learn all the songs from the infamous Stephen Schwartz musical Wicked, play the characters, act out the famous scenes, and perform a condensed performance for an invited audience. If you are a Wicked  fan, you do NOT want to miss this one.
Ages 9-17, 1:00pm-5:00pm, $150

August 11-August 15


Broadway Boot Camp
Lots and lots of Broadway music :) Each day we will work on scenes and songs from the Musical Revue FAME. Students will work on varying styles of dance with Angela and vocal techniques with Abigail throughout the week. You will have training in groups and one-on-one! Finally we'll perform what we have learned in a musical revue from the musical, FAME.
Ages 7-13, 8:30am -5:00pm, $300
Final Shows: Aug 15/16th
**Auditions** May 31st 10-11:30 and June 1st 2:00-3:30 (please read the Manhattan Project Audition requirements)

Manhattan Theatre Project

What is the Manhattan Project?
Need audition help? Need a good headshot? Need practice with cold reading and character developments? This is the class for you. This class will work on preparing students for a killer audition, from cold dance thrus, to picking the right vocal selection, to preparing a monologue. In the mornings we will dance and sing, and in the afternoon we will do scene work with musical theater as well as classic American theater scenes. Aspiring actors will learn warm-ups, how to break down a scene and how to rehearse a scene for an audition. Student will take a trip to the Big Apple, New York City,  to experience a few shows, take a few master classes, and see if this is the field they are interested in truly pursuing.  When they return they will work on a cabaret style Showcase and perform! They will also be able to take home their new head shot and resume.


                         Auditions May 31st from 1pm-3pm and June 1st 4-6

16-32 bars of a song, CD and sheet music only, no a capella, 1 minute monologue, come  prepared to dance, and stay for the allotted time. 


*Musical Production Camps meet for one week and end in a production on (Hope Chapel) stage using set costume and set pieces made by the actors.  Performances are held on the last day of class, on stage.
